Driver of the Day at a VERY wet Snetterton

Rounds 11 & 12 of the championship were to be held at Snetterton. Even after 5 years of racing, I've never driven the circuit! It's one of those ones that always clashed with something and I found myself having to attend a "New Drivers Briefing" of all things! Still, it was useful given that the briefing provided some valuable insight into the areas of corner cutting Do's and Dont's to ensure you don't find yourself visiting the Clerk of the Course!

Qualifying and race one were thankfully dry after the ongoing threat of rain. During qualifying I found it to be a circuit I found a nice flow to, and qualified a respectable 5th from a field of 8 class B staters.

The rain held off for race one and a graeat start meant that a place was gained from the outset. The leading class B car of James Cook then retired with a problem leaving James Card to lead the class B field with a five way battle behind between myself, Cattliff, Buanic, Astall and the class A driver of Des Thresh. Lap times tumbled with constant swapping of places and tusseling for position enabling the trailing cars to bunch up and Card to extend a healthy lead, but I knew that if I could drive defensively, I could keep the battle behind me. Finishing in a superb second in class, it must have been a show for the crowd as I was awarded with "Driver of the Day" for a superb result in my first race at the circuit!
